How it works?

Tweets for Toys has now finished, but thanks to your support the refuges now have 227 toys to give to children this Christmas. We’re leaving this website up over the Christmas period so take a look at the gallery and all the wonderful tweets of support we received.

You can also carry on the good work by making a donation to Refuge on our JustGiving page.

Helping to support

Refuge's network of safe houses provides emergency accommodation for women and children when they are most in need.

Help us to ensure that children in the refuges in Midlands, get at least one Christmas present this year. Help to make their Christmas magical.

Sssshh! Have you heard? Sometimes Christmas is not perfect!

This post is not meant to make you feel guilty. It’s about helping to put a smile-on-a-child less fortunate than most of the kids you and I know.

1. Tweets for Toys runs from Wednesday 7th December to Tuesday 20th December inclusive

2. We will be supplying presents to the charity Refuge

3. Presents will be going to children in refuges in the Midlands/Warwickshire

4. While Tweets for Toys is open to all to take part, we have an upper limit of 200 presents

5. We will pick the 20 best tweets per day to attach to presents

6. The 'best' tweets will be determined by Freestyle Interactive

7. Only tweets that are directed to the recipient will be used, so for example 'wishing you a Merry Christmas, hope your 2012 is full of happiness #tweetsfortoys'

8. We are working to guidelines set by Refuge regarding the types of presents we buy

9. Any monies sent to us for the purpose of buying a gift will be used solely for this purpose

10. Freestyle Interactive reserve the right to delete tweets using #tweetsfortoys which contain profanity or are otherwise offensive. In any event these tweets will not be selected.
