Web TV crucial to effective communications in global marketplace says Freestyle client Alstom.
Global power and transport business Alstom has refreshed and revamped its Web TV platform - Alstom Web TV
“ The roll-out of the all-new look Alstom Web TV is an important highlight in this year’s communication calendar" says Elaine West, Alstom Communications Brand Manager
She adds: “We have 81,000 employees and numerous important audiences and stakeholders that we want to communicate with regularly. This is why our Web TV programming is one of the most effective ways we have for providing information about the Alstom organisation on a global scale. It is a crucial channel for the business: it helps people understand more about the business more quickly; it is capable of strong reach across a variety of customers and audiences - internal and external. It's an exciting format and a cost effective way to tell people about our approach towards important issues around global warming, sustainability and energy conservation, for example"
We asked our digital strategy agency Freestyle to review the
existing video content and to come up with a new approach and
direction. Our key aim was to synchronise content, to actively enhance
and enrich the user experience allowing the users to access relevant
content quickly and easily.
Elaine added: “The whole look of
Alstom Web TV now has a much more contemporary feel to it and users
find it much easier to access the content they want. It’s a significant
improvement over the previous offering”
Content is produced in a current affairs genre combining a mix of
studio interviews and product demonstrations. It is searchable and
viewed across four distinct channels – Corporate, Power, Transport and
360.
Future plans include customising content and social
media integration. Further possible features may include User Generated
Content along with applications for video and text comments and
interfaces with external social media channels.
